When I purchased my lifetime subscription, it was with the expectation that I would continue receiving updates and improvements without additional costs. The decision to introduce new features behind a paywall feels like a breach of that agreement and is unfair to those of us who supported the app early on. If “lifetime access” now comes with limitations, it should have been clearly disclosed at the time of purchase.
I understand the need for ongoing development and monetization, but changing the terms retroactively for existing lifetime subscribers is frustrating and misleading.
The decision to revamp your app should not come at the expense of your existing customers. Charge new subscribers as you see fit—that is fair—but those of us who purchased a lifetime subscription should not be forced to pay extra for features that should be included in our original investment. There are other astrology apps that honor and stand by their lifetime subscriptions, and I, along with many other disappointed users, will be turning to those alternatives instead.
