Consumer applied for employment and was offered a position with a business. She received a check for prepayment of $3,880.00. She was to cash it and follow the below.

The letter received has a heading of 'Fund Management Instructions - Read the note and follow all the instructions'

To maintain a healthy working environment, you must follow all numbered instructions and email the requested pieces of information.

*must make proper use of funds directed by hiring manager

*must notify by email immediately upon receipt of check

*provide image of deposit slip/receipt

The bank claimed the check to be 'counterfeit'. However, a Social Security number, Drivers license number, address etc. were provided to the scammer.
