I had a date to close on my house I had purchased. This person reached via email using the same name as the underwriter to send wiring instructions with my downpayment. This person also reached out via text, and spoke to me about wiring my closing costs. I have never fell victim to scammers, however this person not only sent an email with the same name as the underwriter, they provided wiring instructions with the ATG Title company logo, they had my phone number and reached out to me, and knew I was closing that week. This seems like a lot of information for the scammers to have, I should be safe wiring my closing amount with this company. I almost lost my entire closing cost, almost Thirteen thousand dollars. I would have been out of my money and the house. I was extremely nervous, and was able to contact my bank to stop the transfer. I feel like I should not have gone through this, and just want it to be known that his happened to me with the company.
