I received a phone call from a man with an indian accent telling me my loan application was preapproved for up to $5000. i verified all the information he provided. i never gave him any information except the "yes" answers. after he verified all my information was correct he then proceeded to tell me he was going to transfer me over to his "loan officer" so he could take a look over my application. (wait wasn't that his job?). He said his "loan officer" would give me a call in no more than 2 hours. I stopped him in midsentence asking why would his "loan officer" have to call me back and why don't I just stay on the line as he looks my application over. his excuse was "it could be anywhere from a minute after we hang up, up to 2 hours. " (Right. i knew i was scammed the minute he told me this information.
i called him the next day and he answered the phone right away. (Wait dont i have to input his extension number?) and shortly after his realization of who i was, he handed the phone to his "loan officer" but why couldnt he do this yesterday instead of making me wait the next day to speak to him? his loan officer said give me about 15 minutes, and ill call you back. still havent heard from him. so i called "Charles" back again today and not even after 2 minutes of speaking to him, he just hung up the phone on me! i called back and several attempts with my phone number private. *BUSY TONE* and havent heard from him since.
Can you guys help me out and stop people like this from stealing others information.. those who at least do have money to lose and credit to lose? im not affected from it due to my lack of credit and lack of amounts of money in my bank he verified. but i worry about the security of those who have the probability of losing literally everything they worked hard for.
