stopped doing automatic drafts and I should have received 2 notices prior to this cut off and I informed her that I had not received any notices.
I told her I would call Atmos and pay my bill and she then told me that I could not pay it over the phone with my bank card because I was already set up for termination of nonpayment. She said I would have to go to the Dollar Store in my City and get a " Electric/Gas Green Dot Money Pak" card in the amount of $595.00 to pay the amount of my bill and a $100.00 fee for reconnect, but since it was my first cut off, she would apply the $100.00 back toward my bill. She gave me a meter tag #WRK000xxxxxx and a case #TC8xxxxx-xx that I needed to put on the forms when I got the card. She told me if I had trouble filling out the form for me to call her back and she would help me fill it out. She also said that it had a scratch off on the card that I would need to call her back at this number, (806)416-0248 ext#117, her name was Dana Murphy and I needed to give her the number on the card. She said I needed to get this card within an hour and she would send her field men a notice to wait until she heard back from me with the number on the card. I hung up and immediately called Atmos Energy and ask about this call and if they were coming to cut off my meter. I was informed that my balance was $0.00 and that I was set up for automatic drafts and my account was current. They said it was a scam and thanked me for letting me know about this. About an hour later I received a call and a man informing me he was the field man and wanted to know if I had gotten the card because he was on his way to cut off my gas. I told him I talked to the real Atmos Energy and my bill was current and they had no one scheduled to come cut off my gas. I told him that he was a scam, then he got real hateful with me and told me he wasn't a scam and he would be at my business to cut me off within the next 30 minutes. I told him to bring it on and needless to say, no one ever showed up.
