They said they were ATT/Directv and were wanting to offer us a promotion on our ATT/Directv bill. They were going to combine our home phone, internet, and directv together and give us over 300 channels, including Starz and HBO for 2 years and we would get a $50 gift card to use anywhere we wanted to. They wanted to know how much our bill was and we told them we did not know the exact amount because our bill was not nearby and they should be able to tell us, since they were calling us with promotion. Then, he quoted off a figure and said he would discount it for $89 a month for the next two years and we can call and cancel at anytime with this being a promotion if we did not like it. Then, we said okay and transferred us to an ATT specialist named Eric Jones. Jones said how much are you currently paying on your bill and we told them we did not know, we were just going to get the promotion code the other guy transferred us to get to pay 2 months ahead on our bill to have it activated. Jones said to get it activated, we needed to purchase an eBay card for $189, then we realized it was a scam. Then, we asked for his name, the name of the company, phone number where we could get back in touch with him, because we did not live close to a store to buy an eBay card. Then, Jones said Monday or next week would be fine to call him back with the card. His number is 888-426-9303. The supposed code he provided to put on our next ATT/Directv bill is DTV031254, which we do not plan on using.
