Consumer received a call from an individual pretending to be AT&T rep informing consumer that someone in another state was trying to make a purchase from their account. They wanted to verify that they were talking to the authorized person and requested last 4 numbers of social and pin number to verify ID. Consumer spouse used anther phone to call ATT directly and verify info, and was told that they callers were not associated with AT&T but they did discover that an additional person had been added to account and just needed pin number to be able to make changes to consumers account and/or make purchases. Consumer told the callers that ATT was in the other line and they hung up.
