The scammer used the chat feature of AutoTrader.com, pretending to be a buyer of my car. They stated they just wanted to be sure the car records were in order, so they needed me to purchase a car history report. The person insisted on using a fake website known as Audit My VIN (https://auditmyvin.com/). The website is well known as a fake website. Also, other consumer protection sites report that users had their credit card compromised after using the site.
