Type of a scam Car Repair Scam

I was pulling into Trader Joe's parking lot, Delray, Fla. I was stopped by two men in a grey SUV, who said they could fix the dent on the rear tail fender on my Rivian truck. They said that it would cost $9,000 at the dealer. They said they could do it for $1,650. I said ok. I then went into the nail salon; when I got out out, they said It would cost $2,200, because there was more wrong than they thought. Something with the airbag that he said was about to deploy on the slightest tap. It was dusk by then, and the dent was out, but the tail light underneath was broken into pieces.
He said that would cost $250 for the part, and he would put it in for free. I was ready to pay by CC. They only took cash and venmo. I had $500 in account, and transferred.
When I got home, under better light, there were pits and scratches. It actually looked worse than with the small dent. When I opened the trunk, More light pieces fell to the ground.
I was to transfer money to send the remainder of the money. I called, and said I would not pay remainder until they took all the scratches and pits out.
He came to my home the next day, and did some work, he exposed a small part of the bumper, and it looked ok. He left compound on the rest, and said to leave it on a few days and wipe it off. I paid the remainder by Venmo and gave a $100 tip stupidly.
When I wiped off the compound, IT WAS WORSE THAN EVER, PITTED, SCRATCHED, AND A DIFFERENT COLOR! I lost $2,350. I made a police report as well.

- Sterling, VA, USA

Approached by scammer after leaving target at Potomac in Sterling, 9/30/23 around 2:30pm. I was sitting in the parking lot when a middle eastern man in a red Suv pulled beside me an offered to fix noticeable damage to my vehicle. I asked for his business card, he replied he could give me his number. He quoted me 320.00. He explained he needed to perform the work on the spot. I responded that’s not possible and asked for his number. He then revised his quote to 150.00. I said I would not be able to authorize work on the spot. He drove off.

I was sitting in the parking lot in the Kingstowne shopping center near world market and this guy approach me. He was driving a Honda CRV said he can repair my car for $250 because I had some body damage and he messed my car up more than it was.

- Alexandria, VA, USA

I pulled into the garage parking at Safeway and Eric pulled in next to me. He asked me if I was getting my car fixed and I said yes, he said that he could do it 950 versus what the body shop would most likely charge, around 2500. I asked him how he could do this and asked for some pictures of others that he had done. He showed me a few pictures of cars that had been repaired. I decided to let him do the repair, I went to buy a few things and when I came out, one scratch had been removed but the color was off and the other dent was still there. He said that the color would change as it dries and the dent as well. He wanted a Zelle payment and I said it was not working and had him follow me to the apartment complex. I went and got my checkbook and wrote out a check to Eric Jace for 950. I said I would get in touch in the morning. He said he would fix whatever needed fixing. The next morning I looked at my car and it had not changed. Meanwhile, the bank contacted me about this payment and I denied it. They said they would get my money back by Friday. The event was on Tuesday, June 6th at 1:11 pm. I texted him and let him know I wanted my money back because the car was not fixed. He got ugly so I stopped texting him and have not heard since then. I am uploading a few pictures. Eric is about 5'6, slim build, and brown hair. I tried uploading the pictures but it would not take them.
