This was right in line with the Vehicle Report scam that you have an article on. I thought the persons behavior odd. I researched for reputable sites for getting a report and paid for one I was comfortable with. They did not accept that report and continued to push for me to use the link they provided. I offered that they could run the report themselves and id reimburse them by taking the $27 off the price of the vehicle. They still refuses and thats when I absolutely knew it was a scam and found your article. I lost $15 on the site I used for a report. But at least that $15 didnt go to the scammer

Represented as Damon Cole or President of D&L Auto Sales has vehicles advertised on Facebook and his website that is actually set up very well. He requested a deposit to hold a vehicle. I declined and told him I wanted the vehicle inspected first. He hung up on me, so emailed him back and apologized if he got the wrong impression and I would

Like to continue. He said yes. The next day I sent a friend to check out the car. He said he didn’t have one and hung up. I called him, he said he just sold it. I found other statements on line after this stating he was a fraud and feel it’s important to report this before others are ripped off. This is a fairly well set up scam as he has a website and will email and talk with you, even send pictures of the car you are interested in. He became very agitated when I told him I was sending someone local to check out the car. Please investigate this as he will have victims that won’t wait to send him money.
