Avanoa Inc. offered me a job as a marketing associate with a base pay plus commission. However, it’s a pyramid scheme that focuses on using new hires to generate sales that the “managers” steal. My first day in the field I made 4 sales and my manager put 3 in his name and told me it was standard practice for the business because managers get a cut of their subordinates sales. They then proceeded to tell me to stick it out for awhile and I could be a manager too and make the “real money”. I immediately quit and they tried to refuse paying my hourly. They never paid me for my full hours worked and “accidentally” deleted my time sheets to prove it.
