got a call from a lady that stated that she was from the bank( Bancorp south bank) and her name was Erica Banes and another stimulus check was coming but my social security information needed to be updated in order to receive the funds and i needed to pay 2500 to fix this. told me that I needed to write a check for 2500 and take it to the store and wire the funds but I can not hang up the phone with them and i must stay on the phone because if I hang up my account will automatically be rejected and I wont get the stimulus. I kept them on the phone and went to the store to wire the funds. one thing that made me skeptical was that the lady kept begging me to continue with the transaction or she would lose her job. I sent her the 2500. she called me back two days later (Saturday) and told me that the wire transfer did not go through and I would need to send it again. I asked her was this a scam and she kept telling me it wasn't but at this point I knew that it was. I lost 2500 but did not send the money again.
