I purhcased airline tickets from Allegiant air. I had a question concerning flight plans with my minor children. Allegiant didn't have their phone number listed in the booking confirmation so I googled for the number. I dialed what I thought was allegiant but ended up being a scammer. The fake airline agency told me shortly after being on the phone with them that my flight had been canceled due to a government issued flight risk for the date of my departure and that I needed to immediately re-book another flight or I would lose my non-refundable tickets. I am not an experienced traveler so I panicked and they pressured me but telling me new flights were booking fast. So, I paid them the fee to change flights which ened up being nearly a thousand dollars more. After Id provided them with my information and ended the call, calmed down and gathered my thoughts I was able to find a different number (the correct number) for allegiant. I was advised that my original flight had never been canceled, there were no government issued flight cancelations and that I had likely been scammed. Once I found this out the allegiant customer service rep stated that they would likely try to access my original flight information so we changed the itenerary number (because I had given the scammers that info under false pretenses). about 30 minutes later after I changed the itenerary number for my legitimate flight, the scammers tried to call me back to get the new itenerary number and/or the credit voucher that had been used to re-book the flight to change that number with allegiant. I suspect their goal was to also steal the credit voucher for my original flight. I received text messages from the scammers as well trying to get my credit voucher and itenerary number.
