The initial text message included a Hiring Code and a link to Microsoft Teams (https://teams.live.com/l/invite/FEAsOohU_1qtQ2L_wU). This link connected me to a Barrington Leonardo. He IM'd me some standard interview questions. After I answered them, he said to contact him first thing in the morning for the next steps. The next morning, he said I was hired, and sent me some documents to fill out (background check, W4, and direct deposit), plus he said I need to send some personal information (driver's license, SSN card, a voided check, and my last W2 form). After sending that information, they Fed-Exed me a check to deposit, which will be used to purchase the necessary equipment for the job (laptop, printer/scanner, paper shredder). Mr. Leonardo said I need to purchase these items from a specific (unnamed) vendor. Even though I was (supposedly) hired by Oxalo Therapeutics, the company name on the check was Polymer Molded Products. My bank confirmed that the check is fake.
