This Lori *** is claiming to be working for the BBB.org in your Abuse Department. They even went as far as to put in a case#, which is very horrible to do to a business. I looked under our *** *** *** account and didn't find any type of complaint. Please verify if this has really been done or not.
Thank you,

I received an email stating that my company had a compliant with BBB.org, claiming that they had a claim violating the Fair Labor Standards Act. It  advised to download a document with the explanation of abuse by following a link that was provided. The email also included a very lengthy "incident number" that is not associated with the BBB.org.

Person names "John Hardy" calls claiming he works with the BBB.org and that i have a package waiting for me. When i ask what the prize is he just claims it’s a prize. When I tell him I didn’t order anything he starts saying that I recently went to target, Walmart, walgreens, etc. and that’s why I am getting this prize. He finally gets more into the scam and starts saying that I won a prize of 2.5 million. That’s when I tell him that he can keep it and to not call me again. The next day he calls again and I tell him “oh you again, didn’t I tell you to stop calling me” and he gets into this whole, I work for the BBB.org out of Las Vegas, to call some number and ask for some person (these details I don’t have).

I was asked to update my review of a Treasure Valley business by clicking on the link. I have not heard of the business much less ever offered a review of the business. The e-mail looked official on first glance but I was suspicious since I had never offered the review. When I looked more closely, there was no phone number, no address, and the e-mail given to check with if I had questions was just slightly different from the legitimate BBB.org address. I don't know know what happened if you clicked on the link because I wasn't going there.

I received a call from a man that said he was from the BBB.org, (202-646-4659) and that I had won $585,000 in the Shop Holiday Sweepstakes. He had an accent and said I would need to wire $700 in order to get my prize. I then got a call from the holiday sweepstakes (702-207-1589) confirming my winnings. I called the BBB.org and found it was a scam.

Has a call from someone saying they are from the BBB.org and the call is regarding legal documents. Couldn't under the name. Then hung up. Consumer has recording.

They said that they had put some scammers behind bars and found out that we had been scammed out of 300 dollars. If we gave them our banking information we could get it back. Then when we wouldn't do that he said that there were other people who might be using our computer to hack other computers to scam others and that if we didn't do exactly what he said the FBI would come and arrest us (we live in Canada), or the anti-fraud people would come and check our computer. They told us we could call them back at 2028101150.

This past Saturday, 2/18/2017, I received 5 phone calls from 1 859-846-9684 (Huff Taunya). I answered one call, the called stated that last year I purchase some computer protection for about $149.00. as I was having problems with my computer because I had a screen pop up that looked like a legitimate message from Microsoft, so I called the number. This was bogus, the number went to some foreign accented individual who stated they were on an Island in the Caribbean, trying to get me to purchase this protection for 149.00. They wanted me to turn on my computer and let them dial in.
I did not, told them this was a hoax and hung up.
Checked this out with both Microsoft and Comcast, Comcast went into my computer and verified there was no damage and that they stated the notice that I received was bogus and that it was good that I contacted Comcast.
Now back to this past Saturday. The called wanting me to turn on my computer in order for me to get the refund that I never spent as mentioned above. I hung up. They called back, insisting that I do as they asked so I could get the refund. Again I hung up.
That brings us to today. I received a phone call from Robbie williams 1(470)-398-0485, I did not answer on the first call but I called back. Stated he was from the BBB.org trying get my money back to me. As I was hanging up he said something about [censored]ia. I again stated this was a scam and hung up. However, I have a message on my cell phone from Robbie williams in a foreign language that i do not understand, it is as if he was speaking to others while my phone was recording his conversation with others. I still have that recording.

Caller claimed to be from the BBB asking if this is a non-profit organization, I responded 'yes', they said "thank you, we were just following up, goodbye."

After the hang-up, I realized that they had just gotten a "yes" out of me and I remembered the new talking about the "can you hear me" scam...

The following female computer generated message was left on my cell phone from caller at 800 403 5831. This translation is from google so may not be precise but is close to the extent audible:
"...BBB.org due to hacking activity we get to know that your home computer or laptop got hacked by the 4 in cyber hackers as per u.s.. Government law for IT act. You need to fix up your computer before anything goes wrong. So please call our toll free customer support at +1-877-777-3017 ."
I did not call them back.

A message on my elderly parents' land line phone. It was hard to understand even though the caller seemed to be an English speaker. He stated his name as David Bolton or Burton and that he was with the ScamPulse.com and that "you are the first place winners of $7,500,000.00" including some hundreds and cents that we could not understand. He said to call 906 680 9112 as soon as possible to claim the prize. I did not think to look at the caller ID. I deleted the message from the answering machine.

Left a message did not talk to him. Received a call from a man who stated he is with the BBB.org. His name was Benjamin. He stated he has a check with his name on it. Please call 876-529-7989.
