Type of a scam Counterfeit Product
I am writing about a company called Beam Boost.
Their address is 19524 Northridge, Northridge, CA 91324,
phone number +1 (747) 281-2317,
their email address is [email protected],
and their website is https://beamboost.us/shop/beam-boost-cellular-signal-booster.
I purchased their most expensive package November 12, 2023, Order number *********, Total $530.05, paid with Visa Credit Card. I received the equipment on November 24, 2023.
The equipment was being installed in a church, so it took a few days to get a crew together to install it. On December 8, we installed the equipment and observed very little if any change in cell signal strength throughout the building. At that time, I reported our findings through their website Chat session, and asked to make an appointment with one of their support personnel to help us re-check our installation, re-test the system, and make sure we have things set up correctly. I received NO response at all from the chat application.
On December 14, in a chat session I stated “It has been over a week since I sent the below email to you. I live in Minnesota and we are very quickly running short on nice weather days -- we would like to get this system up and working before the snow flies. When do you plan on replying?” The reply was: “Can you send us pictures and videos of your setup?. By email.”
On December 16, I sent 4 pictures of our installation by email, along with a more detailed explanation of our struggles in setting up the system. After numerous attempts to get the Chat operator to reply, I finally received this message a full week later on December 21: “Please try mounting the outdoor antennas outside the house. And higher the outdoor antennas better the signals gain.”
I put together a crew immediately, and the next day I reported via email AND chat session: “22 December 2023. Today we tried mounting the antenna outside on the roof. We had absolutely no difference in readings on the booster device or in the actual rooms of the building. And I sent 3 photo attachments showing our physical setup and our signal strength readings. Along with this email I stated: “Our testing has shown no improvement in cell signal strength using your equipment. Please provide me with an RMA number and a return delivery address so that I can return the entire undamaged equipment to you for a full refund.”
WITH MY REPEATED ATTEMPS VIA CHAT SESSIONS AND EMAIL MESSAGES, I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE ANY REPLY TO THIS REQUEST – AND ALONG WITH THAT, NOBODY ANSWERS PHONE CALLS TO THE NUMBER POSTED ON THEIR WEBSITE.
I must say that I am very disappointed with the company’s customer service. And about the chat sessions; I really don’t think I’m communicating with a real person, Brian Jones. The website icon indicates that he is ‘on line’ (and it is ‘on line’ 24/7) but there are very seldom any replies or communication. My opinion is that I’m really communicating with a TIDIO chatbot and not any real person named Brian Jones.
On SIX separate occasions between December 22, 2023 and this writing (February 2024), I have sent the following message:
I wish to return your equipment, in its original packaging, for a full refund.
I implore you to please provide me with an RMA number or return authorization and a return shipping address. Note: The credit card we used to purchase your equipment is no longer in service. Please send our refund via a bank cheque or a postal money order – pay to the order of *** _____.
I have had absolutely no response from the company to any of these messages either via Chat or email or telephone.
On January 8, 2024, I sent a registered letter (with signature request) to the company at their California address. On January 14, the letter was returned stating “Return to sender, Vacant Property, Unable to forward.”
Personally, I believe this company to be engaged in a scam; selling equipment that does not work, with the following promises (directly from their website):
• Easy INSTALLATION: Takes Less Than 20 Minutes
• Compatible: Works On All US Phone Networks
• Complete Kit: Comes With Everything You Need To Boost Signals
• Get Your Money Back: If Doesn't Improve Your Cell Signals
I am asking the Better Business Bureau to investigate this claim and respond. And in addition, I am asking the Better Business Bureau to publicize the results.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
