Of course this had to happen on a Sunday, when no banks were open – but when I called the bank, they cancelled my bank card because of the fraudulent activity. The charges were automatically reversed/declined (although today – Monday – I now see them again as “pending”). I’m unsure if these companies have tried to debit my account AGAIN. They may have, but the bank is fully aware of the scam, so those charges will also be reversed if they do end up posting.
I’m no stranger to ordering products online, and know the routine very well. You place your order, receive an email confirmation with an order number & usually a tracking number as well. These companies must have only had my bank card number, not my email address – because I have no email notifications regarding these “orders”.
I tried Googling the company names and addresses, to see if they corresponded with actual locations of the same title. They do not. In fact, the Argyle Forest address in Jacksonville FL actually matches up with a UPS Store. I’m thinking this scandalous business must be running out of a PO Box at UPS, who allows you to have a business name at their street location.
Watch out for any companies with these names or addresses below & do not provide them with your personal information or credit card / bank card!! Somehow they obtained mine without my knowledge, and it has caused a big inconvenience. Thank goodness my bank has an excellent fraud alert system & caught this right away!
