The person posed as a client for my design service after saying they saw my design work on the creative platform Behance. The person told me what designs they wanted and I proceeded to fulfill the request. Upon completion of the project, I presented the potential designs to the supposed client for final approval. The supposed client sent me a check from Bank of America or what I thought was a check from Bank of America with the supposed business name of their organization made out to me. I deposited the supposed payment into my checking account. Later that day my bank called and said they were closing my account because I had deposited a bad check. I spoke with the bank and told them where the payment came from but they let me know that they were not going to pursue the address of the supposed business that supplied the check but would rather close my account with them. I'm not sure if that transaction exposed my personal information.
