Wonderland Dachsunds
I'm so glad I did my research and found this website here and all of the warnings from all of you before I too was $800 out of pocket due to a scammer posing under the name James Hopkins with Wonderland Dachsunds. Everything is very legit. I have adopted before and these folks are some of the best scammers in making everything look very real. They even have a selection process and ask you interview questions. I did notice that they didn't call my reference person nor did they call my vet which is very unusual for someone that requires an interview process. They also claimed to be out of Buffalo NY but the phone number they used is not even out of New York. I didn't question that too terribly much because I know many people that have phone numbers that don't match where they live. I started to question things when I was sent photos of the dog I wanted to adopt and in those pictures they sent a very short video (about 10seconds). One thing that stood out largely was that the dog I was getting is blue eyed and the dog in the video is brown eyed. James Hopkins blamed this on the lightings but it was drastically different. The next thing I noticed was I google searched the address used on their paperwork and it looks like like a very run down location (an empty lot actually) and appeared highly neglected and in no way matched or represented the description on the website or paperwork. There also appeared to be no record of an actual business in New York state using the name Wonderland Dachsunds. I continued to receive communication from this person with very real looking paperwork but as the communication continued, I continued to do my research with I smell a SCAM ARTIST! I found this website here and noticed all of the exact same pictures and some of the same exact dogs. I knew I had him figured out at this point. One final thing I noticed was that on the transfer of ownership paperwork the printed name (James Hopkins) doesn't match the name under it written in cursive for the signature. Thankfully I was able to discover this before any form of payment was sent. If you are ever unsure of an online company or person just make sure to always use paypal because if you are caught in a scam paypal with research it an make it right with refunding you back your payment.
FUZZY FAMILY KENNEL & PET THRIVER LOGISTICS
When I sent him the initial payment [$400 USD; $545.00 CAD] to the email address - I received delivery information back from Pet Thrivers Logistics.
Later, I received an email from JAMES HOPKINS suggesting that since I've received confirmation of the Puppy being delivered, he would require the remaining funds [$400 USD; $545 CAD]
On the day of delivery, I received an email from Pet Thrivers Logistics indicating that the delivery had been rejected due to Crate requirements and that I would be subject to a rental fee and need to pick between two Crate options indicated in the email - the email also indicated that these rental fees would be 95% refunded. I replied with the crate that was recommended and digitally signed an invoice which indicated the amount due of $815.00 CAD rental fee.
As I continued receiving no information or confirmations regarding the delivery, I tried to get in touch with JAMES HOPKINS with no response. I took to the internet to do research and noticed that others have been scammed by PET THRIVER LOGISTICS as well. In addition, I did a Google Image search of the puppy and noticed that the same photo is being used on various websites as a scam.
Please be aware!
Bel Air Dachshunds now called Companion Dachshunds - still a scam
DO NOT FALL FOR THIS
I was emailing info@belairdachshunds supposed person to by “Leslie Keller"
They asked for payment through venmo, PayPal, cashapp, Zelle, or chime.
Tried paying venmo and it wouldn't go through, then tried paying through Zelle and it wouldn't go through. Than finally tried paying through PayPal and kept thinking it was something wrong on my end, I should have taken it as a sign.
After payment was done they sent this information for shipment of the puppy “Mochi”Then we never heard anything else and never got the puppy.
Wanted to come on here and post to warn others and post these images since they did not return from a google image search but hopefully they will now to prevent anyone else from being scammed.
