Following hearing aid test 24-JAN-2022, decided to wait to order ~$9K hearing aids until further notice and so notified Beltone Edmond OK. Then received email 28-JAN-2022 stating hearing aids were ready to deliver. Called to again state I had nit yet decided to order but now decided to cancel “order” not yet even approved. Informed I needed an “appointment” to sign cancellation papers. Did so. Upon arrival on time, stated all I wanted to do was sign whatever papers necessary to cancel order. After 10 minutes waiting for “Doctor to finish with patient” was ushered into the exam room and subjected to another 30 minutes of hard-sell harangue to proceed with the order, which I adamantly refused to do, even with “Regional Sales VP” on the phone urging me not to cancel. Finally stated twice I had another appointment to go to. Was given the cancellation paper to sign, signed, and on my way out had to request a copy of that paper for my files and to examine in detail. Next day received a notice from my Equifax Credit Report that a new account with WF/Preferred Customer Credit had been opened in my name for ~$9K. Upon further investigation with Wells Fargo determined that the fraudulently opened credit card in my name was opened by Beltone Hearing Centers. Wells Fargo has closed that account now to prevent further fraud. This entire scenario is unacceptable and Beltone must be held accountable. Many Thanks in Advance!
