I am writing this behalf of my friend and co-worker. He received a letter from BPAS Services stating that they are holding an IRA account in the amount of $658.37 that is listed in his name and has been inactive. Possibly from a previous employer. The letter further states that he must provide his social security number and valid government identification. J asked me if I thought that it was safe to provide this sensitive documentation to this company, he cannot recall working for a company that provided an IRA.
