We do have a similar contest in Butte, but there is no purchase necessary for the award. It is run through the local newspaper and decided by vote. After doing a little bit of online research, we found others have been scammed by this - paying for the plaque or crystal stand, and never receiving their "award."
Luckily, I had never placed my order... Others have, and lost money on this.
