Thursday, April 5th, I received a call showing on my caller ID as ScamPulse.com and a phone number. I don't normally answer unidentified calls, but I did answer this one because it showed as BBB. The caller identified himself as a ScamPulse.com employee and that he was calling about a credit card transaction in February that he claimed was a scam. This charge had been questioned by my credit card company when it was processed, so my immediate reaction was, "So, USAA was right." He advised me that the ScamPulse.com would help me recover my money. He also said that they wanted to sweep my computer to make sure there was no malware that had been left by the scammers. Befor he started, he asked to read and approve several "BBB" documents. They looked legitimate and I approved them. I stopped the process and shut down my computer when I saw them transferring over $2500.00 from my savings to my checking account. Shutting down my computer stopped the bank transaction before they could move the money from my account. I called my bank and put an immediate block on my accounts. I then called my two credit card companies and cancelled my credit cards. Later that day I received an email from Best Buy advising that they had cancelled an order, apparently because the credit was refused. Frankly, I consider myself to be extremely lucky because I was a able to observe what they were doing and stop it.
