Contractor, BS (Sissons listed on DBA filed in Schoharie County), of Better Contracting Services NY, has failed to disclose any documentation of items purchased, permits obtained, or insurance for the home improvement renovation contractually agreed upon for 00 Mxxxxxx Rd Big Indian NY. While recently catching Mr. S in multiple lies, regarding the building permits it has come to light that Mr. S never obtained any permits as needed for structural changes to the property. Mr S has gone as far as stating slandering messages about Ms. DL (Code enforcement officer of Shandaken NY) To Ms L's surprise, she has never had a single interaction with Mr Sisson. This infuriated Mr. S, who first told us the copy of the permit was at his house, then our cabin, then in a folder, all which were proven to be untrue. Mr Sisson then went in person to interact with Ms. LeMoine for the first time 10/23/2023, even though agent authorization was obtained 7/2023. Mr S then told Ms. L he didn't even need a permit. While work was done on the cabin up until 10/20/2023, Mr S refuses to send us any receipts of merchandise ordered and supposedly paid in full (ex; cabinets, flooring, tile, countertops, special order beams, windows, shower glass, and wood stove). Mr S has stolen $93910 from us. His workmanship evaluated by 3 different contractors is deemed unsafe, incomplete, and subpar, with the immediate need of being ripped out and replaced. The house is structurally unsound and we will be filing emergency civil suit against Mr S as he refuses to hand over any materials, or funds he stated he purchased. Mr S has taken $93, 910 of our money, claims our materials haven't come in yet (even when they're listed in stock at stores), and when we called the prospective vendors he told us he ordered from they have no record of any transaction with him since before July (prior to the start of our project/contract). He actually thinks we owe him another $25,000+ upon final walkthrough. Mr S told us on 9/20 he ordered our kitchen countertops and cabinets for $12,500, and he is now claiming they were $22,000+ ; again with no written consent of the change order, due to a non-existent fire code as confirmed by Ms. L. Every interaction with Mr S is recorded and documented via txt and email. Mr S has refused mediation services to remedy this situation. He has still not produced any receipts, or where our funds have been allocated. Materials were not returned as promised upon retrieval of his tools; escorted by Shandaken Police Officer N Our beloved cabin is now structurally unsound, and needs above materials are needed asap. Mr S has walked away with our money, after specifically targeting us knowing we would be far away for the duration of this project. He had ill intent from the start, with the goal of scamming us out of our hard earned money renovating our beloved cabin left to us by our late grandfather.
