My daughter was an uninformed customer who arrived at Big Brand Tire & Service to have her tires rotated and balanced. While she was waiting, she went in the meantime to a CVS (local store) to purchase some hair and beauty products. While she was shopping, she received a phone call from the Big Brand employee. He urged her over the phone to purchase new tires, and he offered her---over the phone---the most expensive ones ($125 for each tire) to be mounted on her used/old car. She agreed because she was pressured by him. He urged her to purchase new tires right away and to get it done as soon as possible. He also claimed it was not safe to drive her car with its current tires. He basically fabricated an urgency that was not real and "forced her into a corner." My daughter was still at CVS and could not look at any tires. She was not offered any price range or types of tire, suitable for her car.
In order to provide good customer service, instead of letting her pay $125 per tire plus the price for the installation, he could have suggested to her to purchase the tires online from Big Brand Tires & Service for half the price and have them installed one week later. She lost $350 taken from her savings account because she was scammed by the company. (The online price at Big Brand for the same type of tire is $55 per tire.) My daughter is 21 years old and still a student.
Big Brand's Tire & Service customer service is to pressure uninformed customers so that they pay twice the amount of money.
