I think the company and website is a fraud, selling a fraudulent product. (NOT real Birkenstock)

I found a "Birkenstock Outlet" website and attempted to submit an order. I made the required account giving my name, email, mailing address, phone number, and a created password. I entered my credit card information to complete the order. The final submit didn't complete although I still received an order number. I then received an email that said,

"The comments for your order are:

Thanks for your order on our website. We have got your orders,which is available for order.

But your payment was fail, did you want to have a try again? We take paypal, visa card, master card payment online.

We have send paypal invoice to your email. please check your inbox and finish the payment.We will ship the order out ASAP after we receive the payment.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best Regards!"

The poor English alerted me, and I did a closer check of the website. There are quite a few red flags I should have noticed.

Red flags.

1. I SHOULD have been alerted because the price of the Birkenstock sandals are more than half off their usual prices

2. The only way to contact them is through email. There is no phone number listed, and "Live chat" has no link.

3. I did a Google map search of the address listed, and it appears to be a residence in a residential neighborhood.

4. The web address ends with .cc, not .us I searched for .cc It is the Keeling Islands, in the Pacific Ocean near Australia.

I did NOT click any of the links in the email I received. I cancelled the credit card I entered for the transaction and notified them. I don't know what else I should do, or how.

I came across an instagram ad for discounted Birkenstocks, but the typical Birkenstock page did not reflect the same sales. The site only accepted PayPal. I tried to place an order and when it attempted to process my PayPal payment, it said there was a problem and to contact the merchant. There was a string of Chinese characters across the top of the page. Thankfully, the payment did not go through and so the order was not placed, but the website looks very legitimate and even claims authentic guarantee. However, the fact that the sales listed on the site are not reflected on what I know to be the true website is highly suspicious. Usually, if you click an ad from a link, it takes you to the legitimate site and not a separate URL containing the same products with unique sale prices.

Facebook had a ad that popped up at bleaker.com for Birkenstock shoes and said they’re having a sale at 80% off. The website, Bksale.com, looked just like the original Birkenstock webpage. They took the money out and gave me a shopping and tracking info. I ordered this product on the 4th of July and the tracking info says it was delivered on the 3rd. They don’t answer any customer service emails or support lines.

I found this website through an Instagram pop-up ad, and I decided that it would be legitimate because Instagram allowed it to be shown as an advertisement. However, I placed an order where money wash pulled from my account, however my products never showed up nor did I ever receive a confirmation email confirming my order even though money was taken from my bank account.
