The Story:
This guy contacted me through LinkedIn offering large investment opportunities through Bitcoin Mining Pool. On his LinkedIn profile he says he is a licensed financial advisor at Balt Investments. When prodded for the license number, nothing came forth. I asked for proof of identification such as government issued ID or passport. He wanted my Whatsapp number to send through the docs. I refused but gave him a much safer gmail address. What came through was a photo of a Russian man's passport (attached). In this email this person identified himself and said:
"Good day
I’M Alder Evgeny; one of my associates, Mr Derek messaged me few moments regarding your inquires on the investment, he said you needed my ID for confirmation; i have added the attachment to this mail.
I also want to also use this medium to welcome you to our platform.
I know how skeptical you feel about getting into something new, especially the crypto world, which is filled with mostly digital activities, but not too worry, we fully assure you a very profitable return from your investment. Do have a wonderful day

This "Derek Scott" gave me a link to a website that he said he worked at for 8 years: The website is https://yenglobalinvestment.com/
This website clearly is a scam website and poorly put together. The company does not exist according to https://www.finra.org/
