Black and Decker - imposter Reports & Reviews (4)

I filled out an application on Career Builder's for a remote job. I was contacted via text on 3/23/24 for an interview via Microsoft teams. After a lengthy chat I was offered a job. On 3/25/24  I was sent a w4 form and offer letter. I sent a picture of my drivers license and I filled out the w4 form with my SSN. The documents were signed and sent back to the email address [email protected]

I was contacted about a REMOTE position as Data Entry Assistant with Black + Decker through a text message. The person who reached out via text was calling himself Mr. Greg Peter from the Indeed job board. I was instructed to downloaded an app -“MICROSOFT Teams”- and click a link to be invited by the hiring manager Mr. Robert Wingstill. During the (text) interview, there were extensive questions that seemed legit. After answering over 10 questions (including at what bank and how I would like to receive the payments once and if hired), and after waiting 30 minutes for the outcome, Mr. Wingstill wrote that I was the right fit for the position. Then I was sent an email with the employment offer agreement letter (which seemed to have the hourly pay amount corrected) and the job description seemed very vague like it was copied and pasted. The email was from [email protected]. The alleged HR, on the app, then wrote that they were going to send me work equipment and that they would send me money for it. That is when i I felt this was a job scam. The person who signed the employment agreement signed as Andrea J. Ayers. I called Black+ Decker and they told me that they do not use emails ending with hotmail.com. The company is legit. The people claiming to be from the company aren’t. The information that they already had was my phone number, and the information that I shared was, my email and where I hold my checking account but not the account number. However, now, I am sacred.

They reached out via email saying they were from "BLACK AND DECKER" and they obtain my information from "OREGON JOB BOARD." The person who initially reached was named James Shadid and told me they would like to talk over Microsoft Teams for a job opportunity that started at $25/hr. while training then $32/hr. after training. I was then reached out to by Alan Telles the next day requesting that I accept the Teams invite. I however was skeptical about the offer as it seemed too goods to be true and did not respond. I have now been reached out to again by Alan Telles so I asked where he got my information since I have no record of applying to any position at Black and Decker. He said "We got your contact from the Oregon job workforce." I have now blocked the number and reported the email as phishing.

I am unemployed and received an email saying Black and Decker got my information from our state job board. They had me interview with them online through Teams for about an hour. At the end, they approved me to work, then asked for my address to send me some work equipment. I then blocked and now am reporting them.
