Black & Decker / Impostor Reports & Reviews (1)

They initially sent both a text and an email, both with the same premise -- that they were an HR person for Black and Decker, and they had several open positions to discuss with me on Microsoft Teams. I believe they found my information via IMatchSkills, which I had to sign up for when I recently lost my job and wanted to sign up for unemployment. Because I did in fact sign up for IMatchSkills this didn't initially come across as suspicious to me. However, when they wanted to talk via chat on the weekend, rather than a call interview, and said they were "available now" but didn't schedule in advance, I became suspicious. I realized they weren't coming from an @blackanddecker (or whatever the company's iteration would be) email address, and I checked Black and Decker's website Careers section and was unable to find the positions they'd mentioned. The name on the email was James Shadid, but I also got a text from an "Alan Telles" about the same positions. I believe this may be an advance check scam.
