I received 2 emails to take a survey and receive a Samsung S23 Ultra in return. I've provided the different company names and addresses on the emails. The only address which was the same on both emails, is the Utah address. I initially took a T-Mobile survey for a free Samsung S23 Ultra, I was only to pay shipping. Immediately following the survey, I received an email from mustardcat.com, which is an online gaming site. The email informed me that I had been charged $3 for the first month. This is a lie because my account was charged $20. It provided me with a user name and password for my mustardcat.com online gaming account. The email also informed me that my account will be charged a monthly subscription of $65, until I cancelled.
Regrettably, After I took the survey I decided to look the company up. I found this site. Immediately regretting my decision, I checked my accounts and emails. Sure enough, I had an email from mustardcat.com. After calling my card's customer service number and cancelling said card, emailing them to cancel my "subscription" I screen shotted all of the evidence I may need and decided to share my experience with all of you.
I immediately emailed mustardcat.com explaining to them that I would like the $20 put back and the $14 for a new card, as I had to cancel my old one and cannot be 10 days with no money. It is a disability card I have. My options were either pay $4 and wait for 10 days, or $14 for 2 days. Obviously I had to pay the $14, as there are no walk in locations to get federal money. So I'm out $34 right now when I only get $605 per month. I get $600 SSDI and $5 SSI.
Do not take any surveys through Black Star Auction! They are a scam company who obtain funds via deceptive business practices. Also, upon attempting to cancel the Mustardcat.com subscription, I received error messages each time I tried with each link provided. I eventually ended up emailing [email protected]. explained the situation, requested all monies back, (including the $14 I had to pay for a new card) as this was a scam. I received an email stating my "subscription" was cancelled. I also threatened them with litigation via my Direct Express Card's fraud unit if they didn't comply. I have yet to receive a response.
I highly doubt a Samsung S23 Ultra will be coming my way. I don't play online games and have never heard of this company linked to Black Star Auctions. I'm seriously considering finding a lawyer who will put together and file a class action lawsuit against these people, who are fraudulently obtaining funds, from the disabled, such as myself. In this economy, no company should be scamming innocent Americans who are already struggling, disabled or not!
Beware of ANY online surveys, as there are scammers like black Star Auction out there. "If" I do end up receiving the Samsung S23Ultra, I will update this report. If you've already taken the survey, check your emails and cancel any subscriptions they've enrolled you in. As previously stated, I opted to cancel my entire card just to be safe.
Sincerely,
Leia in Massachusetts
