Contacted me on Instagram when I posted about my little brother dying. They’re literally trying to scam a grieving sister trying to lay her little brother and Navy veteran to rest. Unbelievable. Asking for large transfer fees.

“The robinsons” under the Instagram name “financehelpx” commented under a fundraiser I am hosting for university and surgery fees stating that they could help me. I was suspicious so googled the email and found this webpage.

Contacted me via instagram. They will go through a script of why they're doing this and then get you to pay first a $37 fee to a friend's and family account then a $125 fee because the bank needs it. No they don't, what a horrible thing to do to those who are genuinely broke.

Because they also reached out to me and unfortunately I gave them $37 because I’m in a desperate need of money right now. But before I could continue giving them the $125 I put up a fight with them and they seem to reply more and (even blame me and gaslight me etc etc.) did they also reply more or were they like only talking kinda robotic? (Like repeating the same thing etc?)

Also pretty sure they are a scammer cause they gave me a different yahoo email (like 4 times) and I saw that they have more so like, so they have 4739933 investors working with them or what? 🧐

Also the bank statement is false because the confirmation number is the same one as mine! And I guess bank don’t offer the same number/code in different transaction cause I’m sure that would mess up a lot of things.

I’m just sad this is a scam :/ I really needed that money .-.

The only satisfaction I have is that I started fighting with them and calling them out. Now I will make a lot of posts about them to warn other people and I will contact PayPal to report all of their fake accounts. (Tho not gonna lie, I am kinda curious to see what happens if I send $125 (has anyone tried this? I hope not but I’m curious.)

It’s a horrible idea but- I just can’t shake off the curiosity.

They commented on my Instagram saying they could give me money to jumpstart my art career/business. If it’s a scam (which I’m 99.9999% sure it is) that’s low. Preying on people who are working full-time and trying to build a business in the few hours of free-time they have each week is just cruel. They know people are desperate for help to achieve their dreams. Don’t fall for it.

This page commented on a fundraiser I shared for a friend who just lost his mother trying to afford final expenses. One profile commented on my post, and upon further investigation I found another page with the same pictures, people, and description. No idea who they really are or where they're located, but they're pretending to be ***** * ****** on the page I first saw, but the second page just says The **********. I did not email and also reported to Instagram as much as possible.

Just got messaged from them today on my fundraiser. I was suspicious but talked to them all the same because of my own current desperation. Biggest warning flag is that one thing sent for donation fees, and then suddenly getting told that 'because you are someone we're sending for the first time, the bank needs us to send out more than the previous estimate'. I was then told to send money to a different email on paypal. Too rich for my blood, as I'm a disabled person looking for help.
