We were seeking to purchase a Great Dane and found the online site. My wife began communicating with the seller who came across as legitimate. The cost of the dog was $850 with $200 shipping and we filled out an application to have the dog delivered on 28 Dec. The seller stated they preferred apple pay as the payment method and we sent funds on Christmas Eve. The payment for the apple pay went to a separate cell number than that of all other communciation (864) 321-1983. After we sent the funds we started questioning why the two numbers. The 864 number is South Carolina and the business is in Kansas. When we asked, it was explained the owners son did the finances and lived in South Carolina. Our concerns peaking, we requested a bill of sale. The bill of sale has two additional phone numbers and an address. No address or number is listed on the website. The invoice had the address of a townhouse while the website said they raised the dogs on 3 acres. This was explained that the owners farm was on the border of Oklahoma and Kansas. The seller continued to communicate with us until we asked for a phone call to address our concerns. With no call or response in several hours, we requested a refund via text message. Even after that, the seller provided an updated invoice and asked us to sign. In e-mail this time, we expressed our displeasure and our concerns that this was a scam and requested a full refund. Throughout, the seller never provided airline information demonstrating that a puppy would be shipped (previously stated that info would be received in 3-5 hrs after payment). The final e-mail response was sent to the seller on 27 December, requesting a refund. On 26 December, we reported the transaction as a scam to our bank. The address on the invoice: 1217 Newfoundland Dr, Manhattan, KS 66503, Cell: 785-236-7387 and 539-888-6109 (this is the phone number that communicated through text).

After my friend paid for the puppy she picked out, nothing. Asked for receipt and nothing. The puppy she picked out and payed $1,000 to reserve is still listed as available on the website. Still no responses via email or cell when she’s asking for dog delivery info or refund or breeder contract even, it’s been days. She paid via ApplePay, USAA is saying she may not be able to claim it as a fraud charge because she authorized the charge even tho the whole thing was a scam??? But want to keep others from losing loads of cash on this, especially when my friend had her old dog die right before Christmas so it was a new holiday puppy to replace the one lost. Scammers suck man.
