I called and asked if we could visit the puppy beforehand. He said due to COVID, he would require verification of a negative test and a $450 deposit. NOW I’m suspicious because I didn’t say I wanted to buy at this point, just look.
I asked for info about the parents. He sent pictures of them and the puppy. I asked about payment options. He said he only accepts Zelle. I asked if I could send a cashiers check because I don’t use online payment apps. He said no. MORE suspicious now.
I did a google search for his name, address, and business name. Only the website came up. I used Google maps and saw the aerial photo of the address. I asked to see the contract ahead of time. He sent it.
My last effort to verify was to request to have a Zoom meeting so that I could see the puppy in real time. He said that they don’t do that until the day of shipment.
I told him that if he would not consent to a live viewing, that I would not send money. He said ok.
He is advertising Mini Goldendoodles for $850 plus $200-300 for shipping. DO NOT FALL PREY.
