We were contacted via text ( t:918.715.8931) and email ([email protected] & [email protected]). I sent our mailing address and contact info and the location of nearest airport. The seller then sent photos and videos of the puppy via email. We were told the puppy was $600 plus an additional $300 for shipping via air to Bradley Airport, the closest to us. We agreed to the price and were instructed to pay via Zelle.
We were given the seller's supposed Zelle contact info but we were unable to successfully pay. Info given was:
[email protected]
We were then instructed to buy Visa and American Express gift cards and send pictures of front and backs of cards, as well as images of the receipts. I purchased one card in amount of $300 and another in amount of $500. I took the requested pictures and sent via text and email attachments to the seller. Seller confirmed via text then proceeded to send an email with a tracking number tied to a company purporting to be "BluePrint Pet Movers." Here is the info I have for them:
Number they texted from: 1.580.352.7502
Email address: [email protected]
Location: McAllen, TX
That company then sent an email saying the puppy would be in a hold until we paid a ""refundable " $1500 insurance fee. If we did not pay within 24 hours the pup would be placed in quarantine and then we would be prosecuted for abandonment. This "moving company " also contacted me via text and solicited payment via gift card, as " it had been easy for me to pay for the dog that way." At this point we were suspicious but already in for $800 and hoping for the best. I said I was concerned as how could they refund if we paid with gift cards? They first sent me to Zelle and gave me the following info to connect to them with:
[email protected]
Saron Reed Memom
We were unable to pay via Zelle. They then sent the following link:
https://flutterwave.com/pay/ob6sczfbtuoa
We were instructed to send 2 separate payments: $1000 & $500. We could not send money that way either.
They then suggested CashApp and instructed me how to use that. I installed and tried to pay them but again was unsuccessful.
Finally they instructed me to get gift cards, which I did the following day, 4/1/2021. I sent images of the cards and receipts. They acknowledged receipt via text only.
Two hours later another email came. This one was soliciting money for a special, ventilated crate. We then refused further payment. That is when the original seller reached back out to me via text to assure me of the legitimacy of the pet moving company and to encourage further payment.
The entire time both "Quincy Cade" of "QC Pomskies" and "Blueprint Pet Movers" aggressively sought money via gift cards as well as assured me they were honest and only concerned with puppy's welfare. Our children are heartbroken and so are we. I feel like a total fool. And I lost a mortgage payment.
