I was charged out of my debit card $34.99 for membership which l dont want to be a member l just wanted a Cat fish toy for a homeless cat l adopted.

Saw this "jumping fish toy for cat" ($9.99/ea) ad on Youtube. Placed order for one jumping fish toy on 1/20/2022. My credit card was charged $9.99 on 1/21/2022 and charged $34.99 on 1/24/2022 respectively. Credit card company notified me about this $34.99 charge as a suspicious purchase and told me it's a "membership" fee. Credit card company gave me merchant's phone number to call. No one ever pick up the phone nor an option to leave VM. I emailed the merchant asking them to cancel my membership and refund my money on 1/26/2022. Merchant refused to refund my money.

During the whole process of purchasing this "jumping fish toy", merchant did not make it apparent to buyer that buying this toy will automatically sign up for a feed membership. I had prepared detailed material about the process how this merchant scam people's money. I will attach it to this filing.

Hi, I had the same experience. I've placed the order on 12/22/2022 and I´ve got a extra charge three days later. My credit card company helped me to refund my money nine days later. Surprisingly, Merchant "Cat-lovers.org" contacted me to clarify the payment dispute, but, when I explained my reasons, they replied that I would be sued for chargeback fraud. This is a leonine contract and it's too unfair and ilegal.
