Joe hooked me up with Akshay Mittel, who put me through an extensive interview process via Google Hangouts. It all sounded good but the first thing that made me nervous was that the compensation was pretty high for the position. If it is too good to be true then it usually is not true. The second thing was that he started asking if I had bank accounts, who my bank was, more and more personal info. I started asking why he needed that info. He stated he wanted to make sure I could cash my check. Mhmmmm.
I finally found the 2 posts on here that sounded so much like my experience and I didn't meet with him again. This sounds like a money laundering scam. I kept the Google Hangouts conversation. I even went further and wrote an email to Bluebird Solar to let them know what was happening. Here was the response:
"Thanks for informing us . these people are not associated with us nor do we hire overseas as we are a startup and have our office in India only. We have received similar complaints like this before and they us e our employees or ex- employees photographs from their LinkedIn account to create their fake email Id. When a company go for hiring people it always use its official Id and number and they are using hangouts. Please ignore these conversations. No one from the company is doing such hirings."
Needless to say, I am disappointed that Bluebird is doing nothing to try to stop these people.
