I found Blue Moon Bassets when I conducted a Google search for Basset Hound breeders. I contacted via phone/text. I sent them a deposit of $400 and the balance of $350 two days later. Total cost was $600 for the puppy and $150 for shipping. I was subsequently contacted by Happy Tail Pet Transport via email. First they needed $1,500 for a ventilated crate. Then they asked for $990 for insurance. They sent a third request for $1,000 for costs associated with transferring the puppy from Nashville to Charleston, which I refused. Told that couldn’t afford anymore. They came back to me and said breeder would cover $500, if I could come up with $500 more, which I did. This “breeder” got me for $750, and this so called pet transport service got me for $2,950. My bank denied my fraud claims since I willingly sent money via Zelle and PayPal. The pet transporters told me I’d be charged with animal cruelty since the puppy was already in transport, and we panicked. That’s the main reason we fell for it and sent them $2,950 more.

Saw Basset Hound Puppies for sale on Facebook. Went to the breeder's website. Website was very thorough with significant amount of content. Advertised as a family business. Initially signed up for the breeder's newsletter by providing my email address. Instead of receiving a newsletter, I was contacted by email asking me which puppy I was interested in. I asked via email, where the breeder was located which they said Frisco, TX. I asked them to send me their sales contract. When I received it, it was blank and looked a little suspicious, as it was very generic and did not have their logo. It did not seem to be at the same level of professionalism as the website. They asked for my address to complete the sales contract. I gave them my address as they said they also needed it for the company they use to ship their puppies. When I received the completed contract I noticed the name they used was only the organization's name, split up in the Last name and first name sections of the sales contract. Before I responded to via email, I received a call from a Dallas TX number on my phone from a man with a thick Indian accent. He was asking me if I received the completed contract and to sign, and send back to them via email. I asked the name of the person I was speaking to and he said his name was Travon Edwards. Seemed like an odd name for someone with a thick Indian accent. I hung up the phone and looked for the email with the completed contract. I googled the address and it was a track home in a gated community. It did not look like the pictures from the website. I also noticed in the email the cashapp name was not BlueMoon Bassets but instead Agro Valley LTD. I emailed back and said I was not going to pay a different named company for the puppy. Then they sent me a cashapp account information for Travon Edwards. No picture on the account or anything else identifying as the family breeding AKC puppies. I asked for the organization's tax ID so I could verify their business in Frisco TX and with AKC as a registered breeder. They never responded with the information. I have not heard from them since.
