"Hey!
We are happy to offer you the full-time position of Quality Control Inspector at BM&Design. We believe your skills and experience are an excellent match for our company.
Please check out Position Description attached to this email and respond to us with the best contact phone number to reach you out for an interview if you believe that this job is exactly what you’ve been looking for!"
The job was to pick up packages, open them, make sure the correct merchandise was inside, reseal and ship out.
I had just lost my job due to corona virus and was told the compensation would be $2500 plus $50 per package. I spent a lot of money on packing supplies, printer ink and fuel. When my "payday" came I reached out to them due to not being paid, I was then promptly locked out of their portal where they had no problem messaging me before, I emailed "Alice" to ask for assistance and have never been answered.
I'm guessing this was a reshipping scheme and they used stolen credit cards to buy things like iphones and laptops and then were using me and whoever else as mules to ship these products. I feel like a fool but if this stops someone else from getting screwed over then it did some good.

The job description was a .doc attachment with this description:
"GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
BM & design is a third-party logistics ("3PL") service provider, specialized in handling inventory for Amazon FBA sellers. We help brand owners and entrepreneurs scale their businesses and simplify operations by outsourcing inventory handling.
Through BM & design, anyone can leverage the full power of a commercial warehouse and labor force on an as-needed, pay per-unit basis, with no contracts.
On of the most popular direction of our business is FBA Inspection.
The risk of sending a product straight from manufacturer can easily outweigh the potential for savings. Because of refunds and reputation problems. That’s where we come in.
We inspect shipment and identify any potential problems, check goods to ensure that they meet Amazon standards.
As this kind of services is getting more and more popular with our international customers, we are focused at hiring new Quality Control Inspectors to receive and inspect packages.
COMPENSATION
Trial Period Salary: $2,500
Extra Bonus: [Items Inspection] $50/package
During your training you will inspect about 30 shipments.
In this way, let’s count:
$2,500 (Trial Period Salary) + $1,500 (for 30 Inspected Shipments)
Total: $ 4,000. Not bad for the first month, right?
Plus, we are going to reimburse (reasonable) amount of your gas expenses you could incur while delivering received items to the post office.
But, if you’re not in it for those perks, here is one more: we don’t wear suits and ties! Jeans, t-shirts, sneakers and sometimes a neon safety vest will be your daily outfit.
JOB ACTIVITIES
As you may understand from the information above, your main duty in first month is Package Inspection activities.
In this way, you need to use your own address to receive shipments and some space for storage.
In some cases, you could be asked to pick up items personally from the post office. You would be notified about this in advance.
LET’S REPEAT
1. Receive packages at home and pick-up packages from store and postal locations within 15 miles area;
2. Unbox / open up the package;
3. Scan the invoice/specification from the store containing details, quantity of items and their price and remove all papers from the package;
4. Check goods to ensure that they meet Amazon standards
5. Upload the scanned documents (the invoice from the store and the reception form and photo your inspection work) to your control panel.
Now your supervisor can see that you have received the item and will provide you with a prepaid shipping label for further processing of the item you have received/picked up. You are supposed to print the label, go to post office, give the post office clerk the goods in their original packaging as well as the printed prepaid label. "
It sounded suspicious to me so I looked up employment scams and this falls under a popular method referred to as a "reshipping" scam.
