However, he was late for his appointment. He did not arrive until 9:20am. When he first arrived, he immediately showed the sign of confusion and have no clue what he was doing. I took him downstairs to show him the tiny stains on the ceiling of the basement. The stain is about one palm measurement. He had not diagnostic where is the leak came from. He immediately said "I have no idea and no clue". I then told him that the water leak is coming from the half bath upstairs right above.
I told him the water not dripping down unless I flush the toilet. He then said " oh ok". He then ran upstairs and flushed the toilet. Sure, enough he saw the water dripping down. Then he said yes, the leak is coming down from the toilet. He told me that he needs to replace the wax ring seal. This is going to take care of the water leak. He does not know how to turn off the water from the toilet. He ran outside looking for the water shutter around my community. I told him that it is inside the house and he only needs to shut down the water supply at the half bathroom that I needs to work on.
The first quote he gave me was for $275.00. Then he asked me to pay in cash or credit card. I told him credit card because I don't have that much cash in my wallet. He then immediately negotiate for $200 if I pay him in cash. I told him I can give him a check. Then, he told me that if he turns off the water at the restroom, he may break the water supply and it will cost me another $200. I turned it off for him. He then told me that the screws are rusted, I need to pay him another $10. Soon he finished the replacement the wax ring seal and left. I flushed the toilet and immediately the water dripping down in the basement ceiling again. I called him immediately and notified him of the issue. He told me keep using it and just put a bucket underneath of the leak. He told me that he thinks the water is maybe from the previous water on the floor. I went to bed and next day I went to work. When I got home from work on Thursday around 6pm. I used the restroom and flush the toilet. Then ran downstairs. Sure enough, the water was leaking down horribly. I immediately contacted Mr. Liana. He knew I called because of my caller ID. He did not pick up the phone. I tried to block my phone # and called him again. He picked up the phone and yelled at me all kind of name. Then he offered me the refund. I agree to get my refund. After I hung up the phone and was on the phone with my family. Mr. Liana called me right back and threaten me that he is not going to refund me back the money for the job that I did not finished. He also threaten me to contact his lawyer and hung up on me. He started turned off his phone.
