DO NOT SIGN FOR BOLT ENERGEGY ASSISTANCE!
Nobody would tell you that they charge you for everyday day usage of gas when you do not use gas AT ALL!.
Nobody would tell you that you have to pay $199 canceletion fee!
With me being on SSI that represations just sick!

Bolt Energy is really a scam. Don't trust anybody come to your door and offer you a special deal. That's a really scam. When you sign in and they don't tell you anything, they will tell you that they are part of PG&E. They will deliver gas for gas services. They won't tell you that they have 2 years contract becuase too many people concel their services. Cancellation fee is $199. Eventhough people move out from their services area, they will still charge you the cancellation fee. That's the way they make money from customers because they lie to their customers.

Do not trust this Company period! They come to your door and offer you what sounds to be an amazing offer to save money on your pg&e bill. First couple months were okay, but just got hit with a bill of $101 wtf? Immediately called and was able to cancel service with them however the 30 day cycle is still in effect. Really disappointing to see that companies like these succeed in ripping people off of their money. Hopefully they will get shut down soon.

My PG&E bill has never been over $100. Once I signed up with Bolt Energy my bill skyrocketed to $143.98 with an additional charge from Bolt of $52.78. I called Bolt customer service and was told by Julia that I will be charge $199 to cancel service. Absolute scam! This business should be shut down!

My husband signed us up after someone came selling their service. They promised lower rates and after viewing our bill we noticed we were being billed $54 every month in addition to the PGE. Before BOLT we went many months without having a Solar payment. When we finally caught on that we were being charged us additional fee every month we tried to cancel and they still have not removed the charge on my bill. They charged us $100 to get out of contract with them but they’re still charging my PG&E bill.

This company is truly a scam and if you are smart do not sign up with them this is ridiculous that I have to keep calling them to stop charging me.

Some guy came with a PG&E uniform and talked my wife into joining a service she had no idea was optional. I was in the bathroom and heard them talking about the energy and gas. He said that everyone in the area was turning their service over to a new company. I was thinking that it was strange for PG&E to just come over to our house. The man saw my Marine Plaque in the hallway from outside where he was standing and I think that's what got my wife to trust him because he said he too, was in the service. I think about it now and I wish I would have yelled out of the bathroom and said "not [censored]in interested!" If he really was a service member, why would he do this to another service members family? What a disgusting piece of [censored]. Come back again and let me answer the door. I wish nothing but the worst to this company. $52 increase ony bill, $99 to cancel and 30 more days for the next billing that I have to pay for. [censored] you and your service, people, and company. This [censored] makes my blood boil. Life is already as hard as it is. Now I have to deal with something so stupid as a scam? When I called, they tried to keep me on their services and said they would lower by procurement, blah blah blah. I checked my other bills and said I only paid for gas and water with pg&e and now there's too? They still tried tonmsay I was saving when the information was on paper in hands! [censored] this company and everyone who help them.

I had a k ice on the door yesterday from a rep asking if I was affected by another company’s price increase and was asked to see my bill. I told him I don’t show my bill or account info to anyone. I pulled up my bill and asked him what I should look for and after going line by line he said -it looks like you weren’t affected and left. I promptly told the manager of the complex I live in and called the police. NEVER give these people your bill or phone number since that is all they need to change your bill to theirs.

They come door to door, to sign people up, they do not clearly spell out that you are entering a contract, they promise lower bills, my bill went up by over $60 a month. they charge to procure gas & then regular provider still charges usage. When you call to cancel you are informed it will cost $199, ridiculous rip off. The individual that sold me the service told me i could cancel anytime, but not that it came at a price. You cannot find info online about your account, only a phone number or you can send an email. Once you cancel they charge an additional 30 days before sending you the $199 invoice to pay. This is a total SCAM. they should be shut down if they do not end the $199 cancelation fee. It's this outrageously high $$$ because everyone calls to cancel this misleading MORE expensive service sold as a way to save money. SCAM SCAM SCAM.

Scam! Scam! Scam! They promise you lower rates but actually higher your rates and when you go to call they tell you need to pay $99 to cancel nope! Don’t trust nor believe who comes to your door.

Had a younger guy come knock on my door at 9 AM claiming to be Brandon or Brendon from Sacramento. He and his team were sent here to check if everyones service provider, the only local one being PGE had completed their gas service changeover from Redwood gas to Bolt Energy. He wanted me to pull up my bill to verify and saw it was Redwood gas still and needed my service number to complete the change over followed by a text and email from the company for me to complete the “service change agreement”. Thankfully I looked them up and saw a post on here about how it was a scam. I said I’d have to look over it all first and called PGE and was told the same thing, big time scam.

The sales "reps" who work for Bolt Energy are lying scammers who are extremely rude & aggressive in their mission to scam you into allowing them to raise your energy bill so they can benefit.

When they knock on your door (after dark) and you refuse to open up for them, they simply will NOT leave. They have no boundaries and they do not respect yours! Many of my neighbors were panicked enough by these scammers to call the police!

They promise to lower your gas charge but what they really do is create a 3rd party charge for procurement of gas thru PG&E.

This company has many complaints on the BBB website.

This company cannot even correctly spell their own name on their "copyright" disclosure on their company thrown together excuse for a website, (see photo).

2020 has been difficult enough , people don't need the added crap that Bolt is trying to ram down our throats!

I was contacted by Bolt Energy to avail myself of a 1-year flat rate for natural gas. Bolt would be the party paid for service delivered by PG&E. I asked for information and was told a letter would arrive within 2 -3 days. I was signed up for service with the understanding that I could cancel at any time. The letter never arrived. I received a letter from PG&E saying my service had been switched to Bolt Energy. I called Bolt requesting that they email, fax, or re-send the letter with the terms of service, which had not been fully explained in the phone call. I was told they could not do that. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that I was speaking to the "Officer in Charge". I asked for the name and contact information for his superior. He would not provide it. At one point he offered to send my contact information to a higher up in the company but would not guarantee that I would receive a call or other contact. This is a perfect example of Slamming. I cancelled my service and was told it would take one billing cycle for the change back to PG&E to take effect. This is preposterous! There is no logical reason I have to have 30 days at Bolt's rates and lack of service to regain the service with PG&E.
