BEWARE oF THESE SCAMMERS!!

I was moving and qhile waiting dor the keys to my new flat to be delivered my son searched on google for a place to stay for a night near our area in Bellville capetown. Townlodge web popped up prompting him to xomplete the details. He xompleted one night for R1100 whixh i accepted and went to payment sectiin qhere i put my credit card details. All this time the webpage is Townlodge. Once the payment went through i got a notification of R1820 ($95) had been taken off by some other name. I contacted Townlodge and xonfirmed there was a booking but done through some online web igoda.com. I was stunned and immediately tried to cancel. Not sure how we cancelled coz immediately i got an email xonfirming cancwllation but non refundable, only to find out it was feom these SCAMMERS calling themselves GETAROOM.COM. they clone the top hotels/establishments to think that one is booking directly with the lodge. They are quick to reply but just to cover their [censored] saying a load of bull but the fact of the matter is my money is gone,scammed by these pieces of nothing. Am in South Africa while they sit in America preying and stealing from vullnerable desperate customers.. I did not use the accommodation, iwe slept on the floor in the streets of Capetown while these scammers enjoyed my hard earned cash. I wish more people can report them so they can be snabbed. They continued to deduct more and more i had to block my card. May they rot in hell.

I have exactly the same experience. I thought I was booking through the hotel website. I carefully chose the hotel which has a refund policy. I unfortunately arrived a day earlier and tried to change the booking. I could have done so if I booked directly via the actual hotel website or expedia. Although the confirmation email gave a link to rebook/manage booking, when I clicked the link, I found the cancellation is non-refundable.
As the other user found, when I carefully looked the fees, the there are extra fees, which makes it much more expensive than other site, say expedia. Those fees are not disclosed upfront.
Also, I chose to pay on the site, on arrival. But bookaroom already charged my card without my knowledge.

I would give zero stars if possible! NEVER book with this company! They will rip you off with fees. They charge 46% more than the price offered! They don’t provide a refund, whereas the hotel itself I booked does provide a full refund within 24 hours. I accidentally booked with getaroom.com because it was on the website of the hotel and I thought I was booking directly through the hotel, which I have done before. I was unaware I booked through a third party until after I booked the room. It’s a phishing scam! (Also, Expedia offered the room for $10 cheaper than getaroom.com, and getaroom.com states if you find a room cheaper they will give you a refund or at least refund you the difference. They do not! This website is a scam!) Beware! NEVER BOOK THROUGH THIS WEBSITE! If you are booking directly with goodnite inn through their website, make sure bookaroom.com is not phishing on the website!

I am a hotel employee who addresses 3 party hotel bookings. This company has repeatedly scammed our guest by hijacking our web site and doing booking through their company. They upcharge the prices quoted on our site after the guest has paid and getting a refund is next to impossible. I have currently been on the phone with them for over 2 hours and keep getting an operator stating they are checking something ple[censored]d.
