I am an artist and I paint murals for a living. While painting one day at a restaurant I was approached by a man that asked if I had ever thought of illustrating a children's book. I told him how I actually have a children's book that I had made but was unsure on how to go about publishing. So he gave me the contact information of his supposedly publisher. I called his publisher and he went over all of the benefits of using their company and at the end of his pitch he said that the publishing would cost me $2,000 and that they would have my book ready for the market within a month! It was to my knowledge that publishers would never take any upfront payments. So I was confused at this but I didn't say anything to the company directly about it because at that point I did not trust them. They have continued to email and text message me asking me about the payment but I don't know if I can trust them so I have not responded to any further messages. I am reporting them in hopes that they don't try to scam anyone else.
