I paid $100 for a guaranteed 1,200 downloads. What happened to me was:
1) There was almost no discernible bump in downloads compared to doing nothing, and under 300 downloads in total.
2) The customer service person stated that I could only get store credit, and not a refund, after I complained, and then pointed to me way down to #11 in their terms and conditions that this is the way it was.
3) After I voiced my displeasure, but tried to end this gracefully via email, the customer service person began using abusive, unprofessional, pointed language at me, even though I had already paid $100 in full.
That is it! Just a scam marketing service, that is it.
We are not a scam. We've sold over $2.5 million of book promotion packages. We have a very low dispute rate. Only 4 disputes in all of 2023 on 1,740 book promotion packages sold

The author in question tried to break terms. The website clearly says 'prorated refund in store credit'. It does not say prorated refund in cash anywhere. Nor does it say 'you get your money back' anywhere.
We also email the Publisher/Author before the promotion starts with terms and details. so the Publisher/.Author has a chance to cancel before the promotion if they don't agree to the terms
Finally, we do not use abusive or unprofessional language with anyone. This particular author was saying - book got 300 downloads instead of 1,200. Instead of store credit give me a full refund. We did do the refund but let the author know that they are breaking the terms. Letting a business contact know they are breaking the terms of the service is not unprofessional, nor is it abuse
