Pet scam
Then apparently kitten did not make it the next flight, so they sent it to Saskatoon for transit. Told me the following morning that there was an infected puppy and that the animals needed to be in quarantine. I then was asked to pay almost 2k for care fee and while my kitten was out of quarantine he was bitten by another cat which they asked another money for. For context, I was grieving and emotional, so I paid like a gullible person would. Also, they kept promising everything was refundable upon kitten delivery. I kept asking for vet records and photos and was told it was against protocol. Come Sunday, when the kitten was supposed to be in Vancouver for its last flight, I asked for the refunds process to start while he is on a flight. Next thing I know I get an email from a litc irc-irc , telling me to pay a whopping almost 10k in VAT taxes because the Kitten was a Maine [censored] so it can be tica certified and because of that he is, he was considered a therapy animal, and they applied insurance for him. I DID NOT CONSENT, nor I was told about ANY OF THESE. USA doesn't have VAT and the cat is Canadian, so it doesn't make sense. Apparently the refunds department from Boothdoor said that they can't release since the LITC has the OTP. Guess what? They needed me to pay the full amount of almost 10k to access my refunds and get the kitten delivered.
Pretty sure the seller was on it as well. When I slightly hinted I was tricked, he got quite defensive.
I reported them to Canadian anti-fraud Centre and local police.
Felt a lot of guilt & shame towards myself and currently anger towards these people.
But yeah…. Go to your local shelter or local breeder, or don't be in an emotional state when purchasing. $800 may have been too cheap for a Maine [censored] kitten. And yes, his photo is still on the seller's website.
Karma will get them, and I hope you guys don't fall for it.
