Type of a scam Debt Collections
Made the mistake of calling back. Spoke with Kathryn Davis who gave VERY detailed information, my entire social security number, my maiden name. My mother's address, business name and email address. Said that a payday loan was taken out in my name and unpaid. Original balance of $300 and with fees is now up over $710. Can authorize to pay $300 today but it must be today. Paid via debit card. It wasn't until after that we goggled the business name and recognized it as a scam. Reported it to my bank immediately and had the card closed and disputing the charge. Tried to call Kathryn back at the number she had given - 877-532-7837 Ext 305 but the 4 attempts went to her voicemail. No message was left. I have NEVER fallen for a scam but the details on this were so through that it seemed legitimate. Gave her my new mailing address for a receipt of paid transaction and email. She said she would email right away so I would have it sooner. Have not received that email yet. Lesson learned. Beware!!!
