Brambles company

I appreciate all of you posting.

A Mr. Bram Hebert ([email protected] & [email protected], +14154553833) claimed to be the Interview Manager for Brambles Limited. Spewed off information from the Sydney, Australia website and asked a bunch of interview questions and personal information to receive a data entry clerk position after I bid on a Freelancer.com data entry position. The interview was held on Google Hangouts per his request and was very unusual. Proceeded to tell me that I needed to buy completely new office equipment worth $1650 to get set up to work from home. Got the job right away which is fishy beyond belief, and proceeded to send me a contract with a very low res Brambles logo across the top and very poorly put together contract with almost $15 more an hour than they had originally quoted. They sent through a cheque via email in the amount of $1650 for me to deposit into my chequing and then purchase the equipment through their website. Which I can gather from here is going to bounce and I would be out $1650 but I didn't proceed, and I'm sure they would have sent a T4 asking for my social insurance number to take that information from me as well. He also mentioned Mr. Patryk McCormick would be my training manager and that I would need to buy the equipment asap to start training asap. I ignored their phone calls and messages when they sounded desperate asking if everything was alright when I turned down the job.

Did you ever receive they’re check to purchase such equipment? I’m in the same boat. I have so many suspicions regarding a company that has already sent me the funds. I’ve made sure it’s deposited in an account where none of my other funds are associated ,but can’t help myself to question everything. Any advice ?

Another email address used by the scammer: [email protected]

I signed up on www.freelancer.com yesterday to bring in additional income completing a data entry job to save money for school. I received a message regarding setting up a job interview from a representative for Brambles Company via the user name satrecupsi4.

Attached is an example of what I initially received in that conversation. They wanted me to message an Interview manager - Mr. Bram Hebert with a code to set-up an interview.

Once an message was sent on Google Hangouts, the "hiring manager" Mr. Bram Hebert proceeded to ask questions regarding my qualifications for the position after telling me about the company - Brambles Limited.

Some of the conversation history reads:

"Nice to have you here. I believe you are here and ready for the job briefing and interview?"

"Alright..You have a total of (1hour) for the Job briefing detail and requirements few questionnaire for the Interview session part. A swift response is required shall we get started?"

"Let get started

Before we proceed I would love to know more about you. That would help where to categorize you and how best to interview you. I am Mr.Bram Hebert (56). I am the Online Hiring Manager to Brambles Limited and I will be the one to brief and interview you more about the opening position, Please introduce yourself indicating your full names and Location and age."

"Before we commence with the job briefing and interview, i would like to apprise to you that we are sorry about our unseemly approach if this interview conducting method is unprofessional to you or if you are new to all this, but i believe the world is always advancing so it is important to stay on top of things as change is inevitable. Hope you understand and have no problem with that ?"

"The name of the Company is (Brambles Limited) Just follow the briefing and you can ask questions when I am through. Let me know when you have finished reading every line by saying (DONE) .Quick response would be appreciated. You will be allowed to ask questions once done with the interview section okay?"

He proceeded to ask questions regarding my qualifications and contact information in lieu of a resume and described responsibilities/duties, benefits and key requirements for the role:

7. Provide two Professional Reference? (Give me two phone Contacts and name) They will be reached during normal business hours when needed."

The official scam part comes in because he asked me to deposit a cheque of 1600 from a vague "TD bank" cheque. The address on the cheque reads:

CANADA TRUST

5000 NEW AT APPLEBY LINE

BURLINGTON, ONTARIO L7L 2Y2

He then called me on Google Hangouts to confirm I receive confirmation of the instructions regarding depositing this cheque that he sent via email with instructions. He mentioned "You will get started with work ASAP, The company will provide you a HP Hybrid laptop with a fast internet connection and your W4 form will be coming along with the working materials you need to start working with, you are to purchase all your materials from a certified vendor we have been patronizing for years now.

Note: The company will be handling the cost of your working materials and other office equipment you will needing to set up a mini office to enable you handle this job effectively, so therefore, the company method of payment will be Check.. Okay?"

I was to then deposit the cheque into my account, which I did, but I know it's going to bounce in about 7 days, and the scam is for me to pay for a list of "company equipment" to be purchased online to set-up to work from home using that money. Then once that cheque has bounced they get their money back and I've spent my actual money saving for school on their "company equipment". When I asked about purchasing equipment and sending receipts to prove purchase of those items, they said that that would not work. So I then knew that the scam was to buy their "equipment" and essentially spend $1650 of my own dollars.

The list of equipment that I was to buy was:

You will be provided with the following office equipments below for the set up of your Online mini office at home.

- HP Laptop ( HP Pro 13-inch )

- Laser Printer (HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf) - (Includes; Fax machine, Scanner, Copier), Laminating machine (Scotch Thermal Laminator 2 Roller System (TL901))

- Fellowes Micro-shred Confetti-cut paper shredder (Fellowes Power-shred MS-450Cs)

- Jabra GN9120 (Flex Boom Headset)

Once I rejected their offer letter and didn't respond to a phone call this morning to discuss what I needed to purchase, he sent me text messages asking me to accept a phone call, as well as messaged me on Google Hangouts with 3 missed calls and replied with "Hello, what is going on?? You are with the companys funds currently in your possession kindly reply to my text".

The "Offer letter" I received had no information in the body of the email (via the email address [email protected]) - no signature, doesn't mention who the "HR" manager's name is, just a PDF of the offer letter, a bit of the information:

EMPLOYEE AGREEMENT OFFER LETTER

DATE. 04– 01 - 2022

EMPLOYMENT OFFER LETTER

Dear X,

Brambles company is pleased to offer you the position of (Data Entry Clerk), receptionist. We are very

excited about the potential and experience you will bring to the table. We anticipate your training start date

to be 07/ 01/ 2022. This is strictly online and a work from home job where everything will be done from your

home access point. You will undergo an online training with Mr. Patryk Mccormick Administrative

support, receptionist full time position.

If you decide to accept this offer of employment, your employment job responsibilities shall be as follows: .. etc etc. And that I should sign and send it back as soon as possible.

My feeling is he has done this a lot and proceeds to use other company names to pretend to be them on freelancer.com and recruit them that way. And of course has multiple email addresses to pretend to be all 3 people.

Under the section "I am willing to discuss what I know with news media", I would as long as my name or any information about me is used as this is embarrassing. Thank you. I'm now waiting for the $1650 to bounce from my chequing account. I also have additional screen grabs of the conversation and the cheque to deposit via email from him.

Also, will you be contacting Brambles Limited to let them know that someone who doesn't work at Brambles is using their name to recruit data entry clerks and scam them out of money?

Yes! This guy Mr. Patryk McCormick contacted me and had me do an interview through this app called WIRE and nothing was very professional...I'm paranoid at times but always for good reason...I think it's more like intuition instead of paranoia though...anyways as someone else mentioned the pay...$45 and hour and sending me money to purchase office supplies from some company they say they have been buying from for years now for the home office I am goin to be making inside my home for the work duties I will be performing! First of all I'm not stupid...second of all with my work history and experience there is nobody in their right mind going to be willing to pay me $45USD per hour just starting out with their company...And yes they do go way out there just to try n scam someone! Kinda pathetic! Brambles: it's a pathetic joke! I just hope nobody has given them any personal information! Ever!

This company contactsd me through my phone stating that they found my resume on indeed. Then stated that they wanted to to a 30 minute interview on Hangouts. I know it was fishing because I never heard about this company, and as I was looking them up on the link they sent me didn't seem to be a good one like something they put together. And they were offer way to much money to start. I've been scammed before and not going through this again.
