My sister found a house for rent on zilliow, we requested a tour. It was a virtual tour and when we arrived she had to text the "owner" and he sent us a website link to gain access into the house. It appeared legit. We did our walk through and wanted to proceed. He asked us for a three $60 for applications and deposit of $1300 to be sent via zelle. He then asked when we were ready to move in and we said immediately he asked us for Mays rent and we sent $2100 to him via zelle. He used different email address for us to send it to him. On the day we were supposed to get the keys he told us we had to pay to have the locks changed and he would take it off of our rent. We obliged and paid $395 to "remove the lock". We waited 3 hours for the locksmith and no one came. When my sister tried contacting the "owner and locksmith" they blocked her number. When I called him he began yelling and disconnected the call. Police were called. Do not trust someone who will only deal with you through text.
