I went onto the website bravehuntindogs.com and saw a dog that I was interested in purchasing. I filled out the contact form on April 11th, 2023 at around 10:00pm about the dog and the next morning April 12th, 2023 at 8:00am I was contacted about purchasing the dog. I was under the impression that the site was legit and continued through the process after seeing the breakdowns of the price in the email. After submitting payment I was told that the owner would register the dog for air carrier transport with flypetsforstate.com. The dog was supposedly put on the plane at 10:30am on April 13th, 2023 and a video of proof was emailed to me by the owner Thomas Cooper. At 1:50pm April 13th, 2023 I was emailed by the Fly Pet service saying that a $1600 insurance payment needed to be completed for the dog to leave Illinois, or I would be sued for pet abandonment. I asked for paperwork that was claiming me as the owner since I did not sign a proof of purchase contract and was not established as the owner. After asking they informed me that the documents were sealed and that I should trust them since the deposit of $1600 would be reimbursed but only $1500. After trying to get into contact with the owner they became radio silent and are in the possession of the money I have paid for this dog. A total of $990. I have screenshots of their return and refund policy and emailed them back as well asking for proof and a refund since the original payment breakdown did not include an insurance fee. I have proof of all contact exchanged if ever needed.
