“Brendan Phelan” tried to purchase my Xbox One X for $500 on eBay. “Brendan” contacted my cell phone using the phone number 980-260-0238 saying that he just sent the payment to my email. I checked my email mailbox and there was nothing. I let “Brandon” know I had not received an email from PayPal confirming the payment. “Brandon” instructed me to check my spam folder for it, which I found strange because authentic PayPal emails are never filtered through spam. I check the spam folder and there was an email from “PayPal” with a receipt for $700. This was incredibly strange to me, especially since the email looked authentic. I contacted both PayPal and eBay and both told me not to send the item until the money was actually in my PayPal account. I let “Brandon” know about this and “Brandon” insisted that they had paid and that I need to ship the item and sent a Nigerian address. This is obviously a scam, and now these scammers have my telephone number, name, and address.
