An individual contacted my general contracting company by text inquiring about home improvement services. The individual claimed they were relocating from out of state and they need some interior painting work done. The individual agreed to accept our bid for the work and they would send a 50 percent deposit. The individual informed us that there was an error in the payment that was sent and that the check was for more than the bid estimate. The individual requested that we refund the overage to them and they would send keys to the property. We received a check by FED EX and the payment appears to be fraudulent.
